One of the biggest news of last year was when singer turned actress Meesha Shafi accusing fellow artist Ali Zafar of sexually harassing her on more than one occasion. With the industry divided about the matter, many other women also came forth about stories related to Ali. However, right there we also saw many female friends of Zafar’s vouch that he was a very decent man. With the case submitted in the court of law, the latest update on the matter is that the Additional District and Sessions Judge Shakeel Ahmad on Thursday ordered Shafi to restrain from passing any negative remarks against Zafar.
According to The News, the court issued the orders while hearing a defamation suit filed by Ali Zafar against Meesha Shafi in which an application was filed to stop her from passing any remarks which was moved by Advocate Rana Intizar who is the counsel of Zafar.
It was few months back when the matter surfaced that Zafar had filed a defamation suit against her which was worth Rs1 billion on the charges of defaming him through allegations of sexual harassment.
With his counsel demanding an apology from Meesha as well as the hefty fine, lets see what the end result of the case will be which is literally keeping all on the edge of their seats. The truth is yet to be revealed since Meesha has claimed that the popular singer / actor harassed her twice, once at a private studio and the other time at family function. A claim which Zafar has denied repeatedly.
